Tammy is a veteran teacher of over 20 years. By day, she works as a HPE teacher for Henrico County Public Schools (HCPS) in the Richmond, Virginia area, but her commitment to the profession doesn’t stop there. She is a host to student teachers and practicum students, mentors new teachers, teaches adjunct classes at VCU, and presents at conferences and professional development sessions all over the state. Tammy’s a teacher of students, teachers, future teachers and an active community member. Her first love is dance, and dance education will always be her passion. A VAHPERD member sense 1997, she has served on the Board, presents at conferences regularly, and has been awarded Dance Educator TOY for both 2010 and 2017. Meeting other professionals and creating wonderful friendships, learning new tricks, and helping others implement dance into their curriculum is what fuels her drive.
